This creamed spinach can be a dip or a side dish. Pair this side dish with your favorite beef, chicken, pork, or fish recipe. Or, use it as a dip with kale chips. A bonus is that this recipe is keto-friendly.

How to Prepare Creamed Spinach

Substitutions

Substitute frozen spinach (2 – 10-ounce packages) for the fresh chopped baby spinach. But, remember, you will need to thaw, drain, and squeeze the water from the frozen spinach. Also, the sautéing time will be shorter.

Creamed Spinach Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 10 cups baby spinach chopped
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened and cut into small chunks
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • Sea salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese shredded
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 10 cups baby spinach chopped
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened and cut into small chunks
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • Sea salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese shredded
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder

Instructions
 

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Gradually add the spinach and sauté briefly just until it wilts. Continue until all the spinach has been added and wilted down. Do not overcook.
  • Add the heavy cream, cream cheese, shredded parmesan cheese, onion powder and garlic powder. Season with salt and black pepper, to taste, and stir to combine. Heat, stirring frequently, until the cream cheese melts completely and the mixture is heated through.
  • Remove from heat and serve immediately with your choice of main dishes. Enjoy!
