“On the Loom – A Modern Weaver’s Guide” by Maryanne Moodie is an introduction to weaving on a simple rectangular frame loom, circular looms, and non-traditional looms.

Maryanne takes you through the necessary tools, how to choose fibers, weaving basics, and color design and harmony.

I think that Maryanne was given a bum rap in some of the reviews I have read. The reviewers were expecting the book to be a more advanced technique book. This book is a great book for those of us who are into weaving on small looms and projects. I love this book for that reason. Right now in my own weaving mind, I am enjoying small loom weaving.

“On the Loom – A Modern Weaver’s Guide” is a basic weaving book. But, it is chocked full of fun projects. This book is for anyone wanting to learn to weave. It is not for weavers who are looking for advanced weaving or complicated tapestries.
